The Bauhaus Hostel in a Leafy District of Dessau
Newly opened in 2007, this hostel lies on the edge of a city wood in the leafy district of Ziebigk. Not far from downtown Dessau, our house offers you a conveniently located and modern place to stay. With our large playground facility as well as seminar rooms, we’re ideally suited for families, school groups, and seminar groups.
For groups of up to 40 people, who would like to arrange their own meals, we can reserve a separate, second building at "Waldkaterweg" number 11. This building, newly renovated and outfitted in May 2009, is just 10 minutes by foot from our main hostel. (Reservations and Check-In should be done at our main hostel building at Ebertallee 151).
Dessau, the third-largest city in Sachsen-Anhalt, achieved a worldwide reputation for art, architecture, and design through its "Bauhaus" movement. Its "Masters' Houses” of Walther Gropius are now officially recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. But the region also has its natural charm – the "Mittelelbe" Biosphere Reserve, just a short way from Dessau, is also on the UNESCO list.
